The Delta Platinum is an amazingly strong middle ground for frequent Delta travelers. Its annual companion certificate, free first checked bags, and priority boarding can more than offset the fee if you fly Delta regularly. Plus, the Status boost opportunities make it appealing for those chasing Medallion tiers.

However, the everyday earning rates aren’t especially strong, and without lounge access, it lacks the premium feel of the Reserve. It is still a really great choice if you want meaningful travel perks and status help at a much lower cost than the Reserve.
