Final Verdict
The Chase Sapphire Preferred is one of the best beginner travel credit cards on the market. It has a low annual fee that is offset a little bit by an annual hotel credit of $50. It has high earnings for travel booked with Chase and high earnings on dining.

It does only have a 2x multiplier on travel, which is kind of low for a "travel" card, but it makes it up in car rentals. It allows you to have primary car rental insurance, meaning none of your own insurance is needed up to the covered amount, which is amazing as pretty much all the other travel credit cards offer only secondary car rental insurance.
Overall, it's a must have for those who are into the travel credit card game and unlocks some very nice transfer partners, namely Hyatt, as Hyatt has probably the most valuable points in the world. It's a long term card for sure.
